ENGLISH Premier League side Crystal Palace have handed Nigerian striker Adewusi Habeeb a trial with a view to signing him up during the forthcoming summer transfer window.
Habeeb, 17, is currently training at the Brooke House College Football Academy in Market Harborough in Leicestershire in the UK. Following his impressive displays at the academy, which produced the likes of former Galatasaray forward Jesse Sekidika and ex-Rangers youth teamer Thompson Ishaka, he has caught the eyes of the Crystal Palace scouts.
Before moving to the UK, Habeeb was the top scorer in the Nigerian U19 Youth League, scoring 18 goals for Lagos academy Shuffle Select. Blessed with excellent footwork and a strong physical presence in the box, Adewusi also boasts a powerful shot and is capable of scoring with either foot.
Born in May 2009, Habeeb must attain the age of majority 18 before signing his first professional contract with Crystal Palace, should he impress the youth team coaches during his trial period. At the moment, Crystal Palace have several players of Nigerian descent within their youth ranks, including Mofe Jemide, Asher Agbinone, Chuks Okoli, Oladotun Lamidi and Jemiah Umolu.
Victor Moses stands out as arguably the most prominent Nigerian product of the Crystal Palace academy, having won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and featured at two World Cups. England playmaker of Nigerian descent Ebere Eze cut his teeth at Palace, spending five years at Selhurst Park between 2020 and 2025.
