Ayo Akinfe
[1] Why not shame all those who want to marginalise and impoverish your people by floating a Niger Delta Petroleum Company to bid for oil blocks. It should be as commercial a company as Shell, Agip, Total, Mobil, etc
[2] They should built a massive refinery as Aliko Dangote has just done. Maybe make it a 1m barrels a day refinery located in say Degema or Opobo
[3] Then we he South South Governors Forum can create a regional company like Odua Investment Industries. It should be used to drive manufacturing and industrialisation across the geo-political zone
[4] In the downstream sector of the petroleum industry they could open a network of petrol stations across Nigeria. Just imagine the amount of revenue that would generate for them
[5] It am at a loss as to why these six governors cannot built the world’s largest petrochemical company in somewhere like Patani, Omuku, Auchi or Ogoja
[6] They can then purchase a network of tankers that would give them control of petrol distribution across the country
[7] Personally, I am perplexed as to why they have not floated a development company and used it to bid for the Warri, Kaduna and Port Harcourt refineries
[8] They could easily have build three or four gas-fired power plants to generate up to 25,000MW of electricity
[9] These governors could have gradually bought up a lot of the oil blocks which the likes of TY Danjuma, Mike Adenuga, Femi Odetola, Aliko Dangote, Folorunsho Alakija, etc own in the Niger Delta
[10] Moving forward, these governors can float a Petroleum Bank to provide capital for local investors wishing to enter into the oil industry. There are so many spin-off products that need to be manufactured
