Osimhen on his way to join his team mates in Bouake after given the all clear by medical team

SUPER Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has finally been given the al clear ahead of tomorrow's semi final match against South Africa in the ongoing African Cup of Nations and is now on his way to Bouake catch up with his team mates who travelled there yesterday.

Yesterday, the Super Eagles travelled from their base in Abidjan in the north of the country where the match against Bafana Bafana will be taking place. However, the team, left without Osimhen, who was left behind after complained of abdominal pains, which threatened his participation in the game.

Osimhen had to stay behind for further medical checks but this morning, doctors have given him the all clear and he is now on his way to Bouake. It was unclear what the abdominal discomfort was or what might have caused it, although the star striker did look jaded when he was taken off late in the quarter final win over Angola.

Losing the current African Player of the Year would have been a big blow to Nigeria, whose attack has been anchored around the striker's high press and energetic movement. Osimhen has been involved in four of Nigeria six goals so far in the tournament, including scoring the lone goal in the Eagles' opening 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea.

If he was unable to make the game, coach Jose Peseiro had options like Leicester City's Kelechi Iheanacho, Trabzonspor's Paul Onuachu and Terem Moffi of Nice. Onuachu has been the only substitute so far for Osimhen this tournament, while Iheanacho and Moffi are yet to see any action.
