Canuk AGM initiates plans towards becoming a community interest company

DIASPORA umbrella body the Central Association of Nigerians in the UK (Canuk) has initiated plans towards becoming a community interest company (CIC) after delegates to its recent annual general meeting (AGM) mandated the executive committee to call an emergency general meeting (EGM) to look into the matter.

Dangote reveals that his group has paid back over half of what it borrowed to build Lekki refinery

ALHAJI Aliko Dangote has revealed that his company the Dangote Group has already paid back $2.4bn out of the $5.5bn loan it took out to construct the mega $19bn refinery in Lagos State designed to refine 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

Two Nigerian restaurants in the UK avoid a legal battle over the name Aso Rock

TWO Nigerian eateries in the UK have avoided getting into a legal spat after a restaurant in Kettering in the Midlands agreed to change its name to Zuma Rock from Aso Rock following a legal threat from another outlet with same name.

[1] Nigeria will from henceforth have an annual budget ratio of $1bn to every 1m citizens. In 2025 for instance, with a population of 200m, our national budget shall not be less than $200bn

[2] Every one of Nigeria’s 36 states shall generate at least twice the amount of its running costs. Any state that fails to do this over two successive quarters shall be dissolved and incorporated into one of its neighbours

Unions warn that they may resume strike if there is no response to their N250,000 wage demand by tomorrow

NIGERIAN trade unions have vowed to reject an offer of a ₦100,000 minimum wage if it is presented by the federal government threatening that they may resume their nationwide strike tomorrow if an agreement on the proposed N250,000 is not reached.
