After just agreeing a foreign direct investment deal with Turkey, President Tinubu now needs to strike a shipbuilding and maritime pact with Britain

Ayo Akinfe

[1] I have always regarded the 1851 capture of Lagos as the date when the British colonisation of Nigeria began. That was the year when John Beecroft the British consul of the Bights of Benin and Biafra, lined up his naval gunboats off the coast of Lagos and forced Oba Akintoye to sign a treaty of protection handing over the city to Britain

I would like to see President Tinubu summon all Nigeria’s governors to Aso Rock and tell them that he plans to create 42 states in 2026 and the following 10 must generate more revenue than crude oil does

Ayo Akinfe

Ayo Akinfe

[1] Legislation must be passed compelling all clergymen to donate their privates jets to the state to be used as part of the fleet for a new national carrier. Nigeria Air did not take off because we did not have a budget to purchase the required aircrafts. It is unpatriotic to be flying around in a private jet when your country cannot afford an airline
