Davido joins growing band of Nigerian celebrities owning private jets becoming the youngest member

NIGERIAN singing sensation David Adeleke popularly known Davido has announced through his official Twitter page that he has acquired a private jet joining the growing band of Nigerians with personal aircrafts.

Disclosing the news via his Twitter handle, the singer, who emerged as the artiste of the year at the Headies Award held last weekend, said he has now become the youngest Nigerian to own a private jet. For now, the worth of the jet is yet to be revealed but it is expected to cost tens of millions of dollars.

Last week, the singer bought a N45m ($124,278)  Porsche car with a customised plate number, Assurance for his girlfriend, Chioma, so the jet is expected to be expensive. For instance of the Bombardier Challenger private jet, owned by Bishop David Oyedepo, the head of the Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel, is said to be worth $40m.

Sitting pretty in his Dominion Hangar at Lagos Airport, Bishop Oyedepo's jet is one of five such aircraft he owns. Nigeria has one of the fastest growing private jet industries in the world, with clergymen, politicians, businessmen and state governments all rejecting scheduled flights in favour of personal comfort.
