Three clubs eyeing Onuachu following Southampton's relegation from the Premier League

SUPER Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is on his way out of Southampton with several European sides vying for his services following the Saints' relegation from the English Premier League last season.

According to transfer market journalist, Sacha Tavolieri, Onuachu is attracting interest from German Bundesliga side Union Berlin, Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray and Saudi Arabia side, Al Taawoun. He firmly believes that Onuachu would leave the Saints before the end of the summer transfer window.

Union Berlin struggled in front of goal all season in the Bundesliga, while Galatasaray need a replacement for Mauro Icardi who has returned to PSG. Al Taawoun for their part may need Onuachu to bolster their attack ahead of next season, as they mount a bid for the Saudi league title.

Onuachu, 29, moved to Southampton during the January transfer window but struggled for form and playing time as the Saints lost their Premier League status. In total, Onuachu featured in 11 Premier League games without scoring, a huge contrast to his form with Racing Genk where he scored 16 goals in 19 games in the first half of the season in the Juliper Pro League

It remains to be seen whether Southampton will sell the Nigerian striker as they are yet to announce a new coach who will determine his future. However, the club will want to reduce its wage bill now that it will be playing in the Championship, the second tier of English football.
