Police declare House of Reps member on Bauchi State wanted for culpable homicide

FEDERAL House of Representatives lawmaker from Bauchi State Hon Yakubu Abdullahi has been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on suspicion of creating A disturbance of public peace and culpable homicide.

 

Hon Abdullahi was declared wanted by the MPF for alleged criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt, disturbance of public peace and culpable homicide. A police bulletin, which has the picture and address of the lawmaker on it, has been issued by the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Bauchi State Police Command.

 

Ahmed Wakil, a spokesman for the Bauchi State Police Command, said they are offering a N1m reward for anyone with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the 45-year-old lawmaker. He added that anyone with information that could assist in his arrest should please contact 08151849417 or report at the nearest police station.

 

Hon Abdullahi was elected in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party but decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) upon assuming office. He then left it to join the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and ran for senate but lost to Senator Lawal Yahaya Gumau.

 

He is now back to the APC and is a member of the gubernatorial campaign council of Saddique Baba Abubakar, the party's governorship candidate in the next Saturday's election. Hon Abdullahi is the second member of the House of Representatives to be declared wanted by the police over violence associated with the last presidential elections after majority leader Hon Alhassan Doguwa was arrested and charged with murder.
