US think-tank Nigerian Decides online poll predicts that Peter Obi will win next month's election

FORMER Anambra State governor Peter Obi  has emerged as the favourite to win next month's Nigerian presidential election in a poll conducted by US independent research think-tank Nigerian Decides.

 

On February 25, Nigeria goes to the polls to elect a new president. In the presidential race, the frontrunners include former Lagos State governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), former vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Kano State governor Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and Peter Obi, the former Anambra State governor of the Labour Party.

 

In a recent Nigerian Decides poll, Peter Obi, princely garnered 1,645,167 votes to Atiku's 1,441,209 votes, Tinubu's 1,368,663 votes and Kwankwaso's 5,711 votes. According to the US-based organisation, the online opinion poll was launched on December 6, 2022 and concluded today, Monday, January 31, 2023.

 

This poll was launched to determine and predict the possible direction and outcome of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria. However, being an online poll, it was restricted to educated Nigeria who have access to social media, the Internet and are literate.
