English Championship side Hull City contemplate signing Adeboyejo during January transfer window

ENGLISH Championship side Hull City has re-ignited its interest in Nigerian-born striker Victor Adeboyejo with a view to signing him up during the forthcoming January transfer window.

Currently playing for League One side Burton Albion, Adeboyejo has been a reve4lation so far this season, even being named in the English Football League Team of the Week in October after grabbing a hat trick. Hull City are in the third tier of English football and with the transfer window set to open at the end of the month, Adeboyejo could be on his way up to the second tier.

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior missed out on signing the striker in the summer, so will  make a fresh attempt to persuade the Ibadan native to move to the MKM Stadium next month. Adeboyejo has been on fire this season, scoring 11 goals in 27 appearances for Burton Albion, so may consider a move to Hull City next month considering that the Brewers are flirting with relegation.

Hull City are in the market for a striker to provide competition for Oscar Estupinan, Tyler Smith and Benjamin Tetteh. Adeboyejo has a contract with Burton Albion until June 2024 but it contains a release clause that would allow him leave the Pirelli Stadium if activated.

Adeboyejo, 24, spent the formative years of his career as a footballer with the youth teams of Arsenal, AFC Wimbledon and Charlton Athletic before spells at Leyton Orient and Barnsley. In October he was one of the Nigerian players who met with representatives of small clubs in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), who came on a tour of England.
