Newcastle United put in fresh offer for Victor Osimhen but Napoli board reject it

ENGLISH Premier League giants Newcastle United have put in a fresh offer for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen with a mega bid believed to have been rejected by the Napoli board however.

Osimhen, 23, is one of the hottest strikers in European football at the moment, leading to several English clubs, including Manchester United casting glances in his direction. In January this year, Newcastle made a bid for the striker but his club Napoli refused to sell but a fresh bid is now believed to have been made.

According to Italian newspaper Calciomercato, Newcastle failed with an attempt in January and received the same response from Napoli this week. While the size of the Toon's offer was undisclosed, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is prepared to sell Osimhen this summer but for nothing less than €100m.

Osimhen has made 30 appearances for Napoli this season, scoring 17 goals and providing six assists. His contract with the club runs until June 2025 but a number of clubs are expected to put in a bid for him this summer.
