King Sunny Ade loses wife Hon Risikat Adegeye who served in Lagos State House of Assembly

JUJU maestro King Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye popularly known as King Sunny Ade has lost one of his wives Hon Risikat Ajoke Adegeye who served as a lawmaker in the Lagos State House of Assembly between 2011 and 2015.

 

Hon Adegeye, who represented the Amuwo-Odofin Constituency  in the seventh assembly passed away this morning, although the cause of her death is still unknown. A highly influential community leader in Amuwo-Odofin, Hon Adegeye, 67, was well respected in the area and commanded a lot of clout.

 

Daniel Fayemi, a media aide to Hon Adegeye's  son, said: "The philanthropic politician passed on in the early hours of Tuesday, 21, September 2021 after a brief illness. Her remains have since been deposited at the TOS funeral homes, Lagos.

 

“She is survived by her grieving husband and son, Mr George Folarin. Funeral arrangements would be communicated accordingly.”

 

King Sunny Ade had been due to celebrate his 75th birthday soon but with the death, all plans are likely to be scrapped and the celebrations be low key. One source close to the maestro said:  “We lost the wife of juju maestro, King Sunny Ade, Hon Risikat Adegeye. She died this morning in Lagos. May her soul rest in perfect peace.”
