Afrobeat sensation Dbanj becomes a father after his wife Didi delivers their first son

AFROBEAT sensation Dbanj and his wife Didi Lineo have welcomed their first child after the couple gave birth to their first son earlier this week who they have named Daniel Oyebanjo III.

Unfortunately for Dbanj, he was not present during the birth as he was away on a tour in the US but as soon as he was informed, he took to Twitter to announce it. In 2016, Dbanj held a secret wedding with his girlfriend Didi, at a low key ceremony both in Lagos and Abuja.

Pressed about his private life repeatedly by the media, Dbanj has repeatedly said that his marital status was nobody’s business. Now that he has become a parent, however, Dbanj's private life is likely to come under the microscope.

Dbanj had said: “My marriage is my business and it is none of your business. Whether I am married or not, mind your business, so if you ever see a wedding ring on my finger, fine but if you don’t, fine.”

“The truth about it is that it is very important to know what you want as a brand. As a brand, I wanted to focus on the business side and keep my family and private life, private and concentrate on Cream.”

Known as the Koko master crooner, Dbanj has won several music awards, including the Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 and Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2009. He also won Best International Act: Africa at the 2011 BET Awards and Best-selling African Artist at the 2014 World Music Awards, as well as the Evolution Award at the 2015 MTV Africa Music awards.
