Spain may have just done Nigeria a big favour by handing us Joachim Lowe for free as a replacement for Gernot Rohr

[1] After last night's 6-0 thrashing, there is simply no way Joachim Lowe can stay on as Germany's head coach

[2] One could argue that Lowe is Germany's mist successful manager ever, winning the World Cup in Brazil in spectacular fashion in 2014, including that 7-1 demolition of the home team in front of their fans

[3] In 2014, Lowe also won the Fifa World Coach Of The Year Award after receiving 36.23 % votes

[4] On the European front, Lowe also got Germany to the final of Euro 2008 and the semi finals of the next two tournaments in 2012 and 2016

[5] Now, I think every Nigerian football fan will agree that Gernot Rohr has simply run out of ideas. I must give him credit for some of his past work but alas, he has simply run out of steam

[6] Rohr has built a good starting 11 but that is where his ability ends. He lacks the capacity to teach the team game management, to build a larger squad and above all, he is too attached to certain players to drop them irrespective of form

[7] When you surrender a 4-0 lead to lowly Sierra Leone at home, you should not need anyone to tell you it is time to go. Bear in mind this comes on the back of inexplicable selections in friendlies against Tunisia and Algeria

[8] To make matters worse, in the return leg in Freetown, Rohr made some of the same mistakes he did in Benin. Playing Felix Akpoguma at rightback and starting Ahmed Musa just confirmed that he no longer knows what he is doing and is on the way down. Nothing lasts forever

[9] Joachim Lowe is clearly in need of a fresh challenge and I think Nigeria would be a great place for him. Lowe has been manager of Germany since 2008. When he took over, Löw was particularly concerned with the amount of time his players hold on to the ball before passing. During his tenure, he reduced this time significantly, increasing the pace of the German game. Nigeria could do with this

[10] Amaju Pinnick, over to you. I hope you know that if we fail to win Cameroon 2021 and qualify for Qatar 2022, you must go.
