Everton fans want manager Ancelotti to offload Alex Iwobi as part of a major clearout

EVERTON fans have asked their manager Carlo Ancelotti to sell Super Eagles playmaker Alex Iwobi as part of a rebuilding plan centred around the sale of players surplus to requirements and using the proceeds to bring in fresh faces.

Iwobi, 24, joined Everton from Arsenal at the beginning of last season in a £40m signing a five year deal but since the start of the current campaign has not been part of the team. With Everton signing midfielders Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez during the summer break, Iwobi is now surplus to requirements.

Manager Ancelotti may want to strengthen his squad further but to do this he will need to sell some unwanted players and the Everton fans have marked Iwobi as one of them. Apparently Everton are considering offloading Iwobi and Italian striker Moise Kean before the close of the transfer window as they are surplus to requirements.

Last season, Iwobi showed moments of quality but mustered just two goals and one assist throughout the campaign. Everton fans have now believe he should would be sold, with some believing that he offers nothing, has been really poor and needs to go.

Others want to see him used in a part-exchange deal for Wilfried Zaha, with a belief that Iwobi will just not fit in under Ancelotti. However, Everton will want to at least recoup the cash they splashed out for Iwobi before letting him go.
