Osimhen all set to come to the English Premier League next season as he rejects Napoli's offer

SUPER Eagles striker Victor Osimhen looks more set than ever to come to the English Premier League next season after he rejected the recent offer from Italian side Napoli to join them in Sera A.

Last week, Osimhen was in Naples at the invitation of Lazio who are trying to lure him to play for them next season. Osimhen's French club Lille had already reached an agreement with Napoli on an offer said to be worth €50m and all that needed to be agreed was for the player to consent to the deal and then agree terms.

One of the hottest properties in European football at the moment, Osimhen scored18 times in 38 games across all competitions during the 2019/20 season. After visiting Napoli, the striker asked for time to consider the offer given that there are numerous other clubs seeking his signature and he wanted to weigh them up against each other.

Earlier this week, Osimhen, 21, announced that he will wait to see if Arsenal and Manchester United form up their bids for him. Both are among several English sides that have made enquiries about Osimhen, alongside the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspurs and Leicester City.

Osimhen only joined the French club from Belgium's Charleroi 12 months ago but he has been a sensation since arriving at Lille. He has been equally as impressive at international level and has scored four times in eight appearances for the Super Eagles.

Having rejected the move to Italy, Osimhen is now almost certain to come to England next season as the latest development would have caught the attention of his Premier League suitors. One problem Osimhen had with playing in Italy was the racism of some of its fans, known for vile acts like chanting abuse and throwing bananas in the pitch.
