Rohr omits Victor Moses from 23-man squad called for Nations Cup qualifier against South Africa

SUPER Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has unveiled his squad for the forthcoming 2019 Nations Cup qualifier taking place against South Africa on June 10 with several surprises that include the dropping of English Premier League champion Victor Moses.

 

Regular names like Ogenyi Onazi, Ahmed Musa, Elderson Echiejile and Kelechi Iheanacho are in the 23-man squad comprising of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders and seven strikers. However, Moses, who recently picked up a league winners medal with Chelsea along with China-based strikers Brown Ideye and Odion Ighalo failed to make the team.

 

Up and coming strikers Kayode Olarenwaju and Henry Onyekuru are also in the team, being were given a chance to make their competitive debuts for Nigeria. Bother players have so far only featured in friendly matches.
