Victor Moses could return to Chelsea this window after Fernebahce omit him from training roster

FORMER Super Eagles winger Victor Moses has moved a step closer to returning to Chelsea during the current transfer window after Fenerbahce omitted him from its training roster for the second half of the 2019/20 season.

Moses, 29, joined Fernebahce on loan during the last January transfer window after he got frozen out at Chelsea and since going to Turkey he saw his career rejuvenated. Pleased with his performances, Fernebahce were looking to make the deal permanent and offered €5m for the player but this was way below Chelsea's asking price.

At the time, Moses was signed on loan until May 31, 2020 but since then, things have changed as following an injury, the winger has suffered a loss in form. Moses started this season in fine form, scoring and providing an assist in the league opener against Gaziantep but of late, he has gone off the boil

Since his return from a muscle injury un October 2019, the winger lost form as his goals dried up. Fernebahce are now in the market for a winger in the current transfer window, so are looking to offload Moses as part of the deal.

With the second half of the season set to start next, Fenerbahce has announced its roster for a training camp in Antalya, with Moses left out of the party. His omission has sparked fresh rumours that he could return to parent club Chelsea, this month.

Turkish newspaper Hurriyet claimed that Moses has been declared surplus to requirements for the second half of the 2019/20 season and the Yellow Canaries are planning to sign his replacement before the transfer window closes. However, it could be that Moses was omitted from the training camp because he is still recovering from injury.

Moses has missed more than half of the games played by Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig, due to a muscle-related injury he first suffered on the opening day of the season against Gaziantep. Moses returned to action on October 26, only to suffer a relapse after six matches.
