Suspected ritual killer Ifeanyi Dike who escaped from police custody re-arrested in Jos

SUSPECTED ritual killer Ifeanyi Dike who escaped from police custody in the Rivers State capital Port Harcourt last week has been re-arrested by the Plateau State Police Command in Jos.

 

Mr Dike, caused consternation nationwide when he escaped last week after being arrested for murdering eight-year-old girl Victory Chikamso Nmezuwuba. Dike, a 23 year old undergraduate of the University of Port Harcourt, killed Victory and removed her body parts for rituals.

 

He escaped from the custody of the Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Port Harcourt after being paraded at the police headquarters. A policeman, Sergeant Johnbosco Okorinize is in custody at the moment over his alleged role in facilitating the escape.

 

Yesterday, however, Dike was rearrested in Jos and immediately taken back to Port Harcourt. Since the news of his re-arrest broke, there was widespread jubilation at the Rivers State police headquarters when the state CID commander told the staff.
