Buhari's daughter graduates from UK's £13,500-a-year Ravensbourne University with first class

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari's daughter Hanan has graduated from the £13,500-a-year Ravensbourne University in the UK with a first class degree in photography and celebrated the event with her mother Aisha who flew in to congratulate her.

Located on Penrose Way on the Greenwich peninsula in southeast London, Ravensbourne University is a digital media and design university, with vocational courses in fashion, television and broadcasting, interactive product design, architecture, environmental design, graphic design, animation, moving image, music production for media and sound design. Established in 1962, the university charges an annual fee of £9,259 for UK students and £13,500 for international students.

Hanan Buhari studied photography, which has been her passion and last year, she held an exhibition in Abuja during which she displayed some of her works. According to her mother Aisha, Hanan's final year project was centred around images in Kebbi State, for which she thanked the state governor Atiku Bagudu, his wife and the emirs of Gwandu and Daura.

Hadjia Aisha Buhari said: “Alhamdulillah, today I was joined by family members, friends and well-wishers for the graduation of my daughter, Aisha Buhari Jnr who graduated with a first class degree. I’m grateful to the good people of Kebbi State, where her final project was located for all their support."

What ought to be a celebration of brilliance and academic excellence has been overshadowed by speculations as to where Hanan graduated. In her tweet on Tuesday night, Aisha edited out the school but the photographs displayed and some of the people who attended, including the wife of the Nigerian high commissioner to the UK, clearly indicates that the graduation ceremony was held in London.
