Rohr sticks with recent team for tonight's game against Benin only bringing in Akpeyi and Aina

SUPER Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has revealed the line-up for tonight's African Nations Cup qualifier against Benin Republic with only two changes from the teams that have prosecuted the last two friendly matches against Ukraine and Brazil.

Not surprisingly, Daniel Akpeyi comes into to replace the injured Francis Uzoho in goal, while Ola Aina, who missed the Brazil game through injury replaces Chigozie Awaziem at rightback. Other than that, the team remains essentially the same as that which prosecuted the last two games, with West Bromwich Albion centreback Semi Ajayi keeping his place in the heart of the defence despite the return of Kenneth Omeruo.

Taking place tonight at the Uyo Stadium, the match against Benin Republic's Squirrels is the Super Eagles' first game in a series of Cameroon 2021 qualifiers. Over the weekend, the team will fly to Maseru to play the Crocodiles of Lesotho in their second game and Coach Rohr is expected to stick to the same team despite the return of long term absentees like Ahmed Musa and Omeruo.

At the back, Jamilu Collins appears to have made the leftback position his, while the combination of William Ekong and Ajayi looks like the established centreback pairing. In midfield, the trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo and Alex Iwobi has been maintained, while upfront, Mr Rohr is sticking with the trusted partnership of Samuel Kalu, Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze.
