Jurgen Klopp plans audacious £86m bid for Chukwueze as a replacement for Madrid bound Salah

LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp is planning an audacious £86m bid for Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze amid doubts over the future of Mohamed Salah who is thought to be Real Madrid bound soon.

Over recent weeks, it has been rumoured that Salah is poised for a big-money move to Real Madrid, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho lined up to replace him on Merseyside. However, Klopp is a big admirer of Chukwueze, who he thinks could be the next Sadio Mane at Anfield.

Chukwueze, 20,  certainly looks like he has a big future in the game and his club have already tied him down to a contract with a buy-out clause of £86m. Liverpool would have to sell before spending that much on a new signing up front but it could well be smart business to cash in on Salah soon and invest in someone younger and more long-term talent.

Liverpool fans will not be too pleased, however, to see another of their big names move to Real Madrid, having lost stars like Luis Suarez, Xabi Alonso, Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling to richer clubs in recent times. However, Chukwkuze could soften the blow a bit, especially, if he shows the current form he is exhibiting in Spain with Villareal.

Mane apparently, wants Liverpool to sign the youngster, as he feels that the side is currently a bit short of attacking options. Mane himself, alongside Salah and Roberto Firmino form one of the most lethal attacking partnerships in modern-day football and they also have Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi in reserve.

Chukwueze has, however, been sensational for the yellow submarines this season after making his first-team debut last year. As a result, he has signed a new deal with a €100m release clause that will be in place for the next two years before dropping to €80m in the third year.
