Senator Adeleke's bodyguard charged to court for being in possession of dangerous weapons

OSUN West Senatorial District lawmaker Senator Ademola Adeleke's bodyguard Olawale Fadipe has been charged to court with carrying offensive weapons after he was arrested in possession of a jack knife and an electric shock gun.

 

Yesterday, Mr Fadipe, a private security guard employed by Senator Adeleke, was arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for possession of dangerous weapons. He faced two counts of possession and theft by the police prosecutor Inspector Joshua Oladoye, who told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Thursday, February 14, 2019, around 12.20am at the Lameco Filling Station, Osogbo.

 

Inspector Oladoye explained that the defendant was caught by the police with dangerous weapons, contravening sections 430 (1) and 509 of the Criminal Code cap 34 vol.  11, Laws of Osun State, 2003. Mr Fadipe pleaded not guilty to the charges and his counsel Sikiru Nurudeen, moved a bail application for the accused, promising to ensure that he would attend his trial.

 

Magistrate Ola Olagoke, granted the suspect bail in the sum of N20,000 with two sureties in like sum. He adjourned the case until February 20 for mention.
