Victor Moses re-adds Super Eagles to his Instagram account after joining Fernebahce on loan

VICTOR Moses could make a dramatic return to Nigeria's national team ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations after he added the Super Eagles to his Instagram account yesterday upon completing his loan move to Turkish side Fernebahce.

Moses, 27, has not featured much for Chelsea this season as following the arrival of new manager Maurizio Sarri, the team has switched from the 3-5-2 formation in which he played as a wingback to a 4-3-3 structure. A peripheral figure in the team, Moses, who retired from international football to concentrate on his club career made a loan move to Fernebahce, which he completed yesterday after a medical.

After last summer's World Cup in January, Moses announced his retirement from international football, saying he now wants to focus on his Chelsea career and his young family. However, Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has left the door open for the winger, while the Nigerian football federation (NFF) president has also continued to maintain contact.

Two days ago, Moses re-added Super Eagles to his Instagram account after deleting it following his retirement from international football last July. This suggests a possible return to the senior national team ahead of the summer's Nations Cup taking place in Egypt, where Nigeria are among the favourites to lift the trophy.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is searching for a new loan destination after losing his starting spot at second division Spanish side Elche. Uzoho has manned goal in seven of the 29 games Elche has played so far this season but in the January transfer window, the club has acquired Barcelona's Edgar Badia, who is now first choice.

This could see Uzoho end his season-long loan deal at Elche as he was assured a regular run of games before he joined the club from Deportivo La Coruna, where he was told he will remain third choice despite his World Cup showing for Nigeria. In Elche’s last game, Uzoho was not even listed among the substitutes and this has led to talks about a possible loan move elsewhere.
