Kelechi Iheanacho looks set to join Leicester City after Foxes and Man City agree £25m transfer fee

SUPER Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho looks all set to line up for Leicester City next season alongside compatriots Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi after the club agreed to a £25m transfer fee with Manchester City.

Last season, Manchester City revealed that they will let Iheanacho go if a buyer matches their £25m asking price after he became surplus to requirements over the last season when coach Pep Guardiola bought Gabriel Jesus to strengthen his attack. This sparkled a flurry of enquiries with the likes of West Ham, Everton, Swansea City, Leicester City and Crystal Palace all seeking said to have made bids.

Iheanacho, 20, started only five Premier League games in 20 appearances, scoring four goals during the last campaign. According to Sky Sports news, a deal in principle to bring the striker to the 2015/16 Premier League champions has been agreed, although there are still contractual issues to sort out before Craig Shakespeare can parade his major coup.

Leicester have beaten West Ham in the race to acquire his services, with the Hammers hopeful that former City star Pablo Zabaleta could persuade him to move to London. Leicester City coach Shakespeare believes Iheanacho will form a formidable partnership with Jamie Vardy upfront, with both forwards blessed with blistering pace and deadly finishing.

In his breakthrough season during the 2015/16 campaign, Iheanacho netted eight Premier League goals in 26 games. He scored 14 times in all competitions, as he established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in the English top-flight.
