Abuja housewife asks court to dissolve her marriage because house-help is pregnant again after two abortions for her hubby

ABUJA housewife Doyinsola Adebiyi has asked the Gudu Grade One Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory to dissolve her marriage to her husband Kayode because their house-help is pregnant again after having two abortions for him.

In a dramatic case, which is symptomatic of a lot of households across Nigeria, Doyinsola asked the court to dissolve their two year old marriage because of her husband's infidelity. Doyinsola, 26, who is a resident of Federal Housing Lugbe, Abuja, told the court that the maid confessed to aborting two pregnancies for Kayode and she is currently three months pregnant for her husband.

She said: "On hearing about the extra-marital affairs, I became agitated and left my matrimonial home In Lagos State for Abuja. Two months after I left the house, my husband married a 20-year-old woman and never bothered to look for me."

Kayode, 51, residing In Adegbe, Lagos, who did not appear in court, wrote in a letter to the through his lawyer, authorising the court to grant his wife’s request. He added that since she abandoned her matrimonial home, the court should go ahead and dissolve the marriage.
