Libya coach says he does not fear Nigeria despite the 3-0 win over Seychelles because we rely on juju to win

LIBYA'S national football team coach Adel Amrouche has dismissed fears that Nigeria's Super eagles will post any problems to his side when the two teams meet next month despite them crushing Seychelles 3-0 in an African Nations Cup qualifier yesterday.

In their second group game yesterday, the Eagles beat Seychelles 3-0 in a match that took place in the Indian Ocean island's capital Victoria thanks to goals from Ahmed Musa, Chigozie Awaziem and a penalty from Odion Ighalo. In the other group game, Libya held South Africa to a 0-0 draw in Durban, prompting Mr Amrouche to suggest that his team will do well when they face Nigeria too.

On October 10, Nigeria will host Libya and Mr Amrouche said he is confident of his side will having a good outing because they believe in God while Nigeria relies on juju. Libya and South Africa both have four points each from their two games so far, while Nigeria sits in third place with three points having lost the first game at home in Uyo to South Africa 0-2.

Mr Amrouche said his team are not scared of facing the Super Eagles and would not mind playing both games in Nigeria. He added that South Africa, who defeated Nigeria 2-0 in Uyo are better than the Super Eagles as they rely on supernatural forces to win games, while his team rely on God.

“Believe me I prefer to play Nigeria than South Africa because I have the experience to play against them. South Africa is a fantastic team and have fantastic players and it’s not easy to play against them.

“For me, I’m ready for Nigeria. If they want we can play both games in Nigeria but they believe in juju and we believe in God.”

Yesterday, after Musa put Nigeria ahead, Awaziem extended the eagles' lead when he tucked home the rebound from a free kick from Kelechi Iheanacho which came off the bar to give the team a two goal cushion going into half time.  Midway through the second half, the win was sealed when Ighalo converted from the spot to give Nigeria a 3-0 lead following a foul on the lively Samuel Kalu.
