Arsenal sign year old Nigerian wonderkid Jayden Adetiba after he impressed during trials

ENGLISH Premier League giants Arsenal have signed up Nigerian none-year old wonderkid Jayden Adetiba after giving him a three week trial during which he impressed coaches at the club's academy.

 

Jayden, who was discovered in South Africa, lived in the UK previously but spent most of his life in South Africa, where he played for Super Sport United Soccer School. he was spotted their by Arsenal scouts and he and his father were invited to London for trials, after which he was handed a contract.

 

John Adetiba, Jayden's father shared an image of the youngster signing his deal on his Twitter account. He wrote: “The little man joins the big club.”

 

“I thank God and my parents for this. I am very happy. I train three times a week at the academy and we have a match at the weekend.

 

“The amazing thing is, I have always been an Arsenal fan and I will work hard every day to make the first team," Jayden added.

 

Over recent years, Arsenal have had a good relationship with Nigeria since the club signed former Super Eagles skipper Nwankwo Kanu in 1999. Currently, Alex Iwobi plays for Arsenal and former Golden Eaglets skipper Kelechi Nwakali is also on the club's books, although he is currently out on loan to Porto.

 

Traditionally, Arsenal has always had a large following among Nigerian football fans and with the signing of Jayden, this support base looks set to grow. Nigerian television networks regularly show Arsenal games and the Gunners' shirts are very popular among Nigerian football fans.
