German pollster Zeus Polls survey reveals that APC remains on course to win more states than PDP

GERMAN independent pollster Zeus Polls has predicted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win most states in Nigeria's general elections next year securing more than its main rival the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In February next year, Nigeria will go to the polls with presidential., gubernatorial and parliamentary elections all taking place across 36 states. According to Zeus Polls. the APC may likely win most states than any other party in spite of a seemingly voters’ antipathy to the party at the moment.

President Muhammadu Buhari's APC was elected in 2015, sweeping aside the PDP government of the then President Goodluck Jonathan. During that election, the APC won in 23 states, while the PDP secured victory in 12 states, with the All Grand Progressives Alliance winning in Anambra State.

Zeus Polls latest findings signed by its chief operating officer in Berlin, Tanko Suleiman, noted that 51% of voters polled in Kaduna State expressed a desire to return incumbent Governor Nasir El-Rufai come 2019. Zeus said, however, said its findings on who may likely emerge as president was still uncertain but added that  it would release monthly updates, on the continuous exhaustive polling in the run-up to the 2019 elections.

Mr Suleiman said: “65% of voters polled in Lagos State want incumbent Governor Ambode returned in 2019 while 58% of voters polled in Edo State say they will return incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki. In PDP-held Rivers State, 65% of voters polled do not want incumbent Governor Nyesom Wike back in 2019, as over 47% of polled voters said they will vote, a riverine aspirant of the APC if he picks the party’s ticket.

“In Kano State, only 43% of voters polled are in favour of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje returning in 2019, as 60%  say they will vote for any candidate supported by former Governor Kwankwanso’s Kwankwasiyya Movement."
