Ughelli woman stabs husband to death with kitchen knife for having extra-marital affair

MEN of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old woman for stabbing her husband to death for having an extra-marital affairs at Agbarha-Otor town in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Apparently, the incident occurred on Friday night when the couple were having a domestic fight over the husband's alleged extra-marital affairs. According to the police, the woman identified as Ese Erigarhe, was said to have used a kitchen knife to stab her husband Mr Erigarhe, to death when he returned home.

She is now being detained at the Ughelli Police Area Command for suspected homicide. According to an eyewitness, she was alleged to have confronted her husband with allegations of an extra-marital affair, which led to an argument between the two.

One source at the Ughelli Central Hospital, said the 30-year-old man was stabbed during a domestic fight with his wife. According to the source, Ese had owned up to the crime, saying that her action was in self-defence

A police spokesman added: “The woman stabbed the man in the throat when they were fighting. She claimed to have done it while trying to defend herself during the fight.

“She accused the husband of having extra-marital affairs and returning home late. At the time, she rushed the man to the Ughelli Central Hospital for medical attention but the husband had lost too much blood and he could not be resuscitated.”
