Tonto Dikeh officially changes her name to King Tonto finalising the separation from hubby Kunle Churchill

POPULAR Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has officially changed her name to King Tonto as part of a rebranding package following her separation from her husband Olakunle Churchill and the need to chart a solo course.

One of Nigeria's most successful actresses, Dikeh married Mr Churchill in August 2015 but   by February 2016, they were divorced. Despite the personal setback, her career has continued to blossom and on June 22 2016, Dikeh made history as she celebrated attracting 1m followers on Instagram.

On International Women's Day in 2017, Dikeh produced a video in which she claimed she was a victim of domestic violence and said she was infected with a sexual transmitted disease by her husband. Before this, there had been speculation that her marriage had hit the rocks because of her husband's infidelity with one of his protégés known as Rosaline Meurer.

Taking the matter public, on her Instagram page, Dikeh accused Mr Churchill of murdering their unborn child through domestic violence and being an internet fraudster, popularly known as Yahoo Boys. Following the divorce, she has been bearing her new name on her Instagram page but has now made it official.

“Officially changed my name to King Tonto, that feels good. Bear with me while I opt for greatness, King Tonto,” Dikeh wrote.

She has now disclosed the new name on her Instagram page alongside a picture of her voter’s card as proof of her new identity. Well educated, Dikeh studied Petrochemical Engineering in the prestigious Rivers State University of Science and Technology in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
