Super Eagles land in Russia today clad in David Bowler designer suits all set for World Cup

NIGERIA'S Super Eagles land in Russia today ahead of the World Cup clad in designer suits specially made by fashion guru David Bowler as the team prepares for its opening game against Croatia on June 16.

This morning, the Eagles left their Avita Resort in Bad Tatzmannsdorf, Austria for Russia clad in the black suits designed by Bowler, a long-term client of the Nigerian team. He trained as an architect in Covenant University before launching his luxury brand in 2011 and since then has designed the Super Eagles' suits for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and Nigeria’s outfits to the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

Already, the Eagles have caused it stir with their clothing after their jerseys have been deemed the best looking of all the 32 nations participating in the World Cup. These designer suits are another plus following the craze that the team’s sexy home kits has caused it went on sale worldwide this month.

Nigeria’s first match of the finals is against Croatia on Saturday, with the Eagles having won their opening match at the World Cup on two occasions, drawn once and lost twice. On the three occasions they have not lost their opening match (1994, 1998, 2014), the Eagles have progressed to the Round of 16.

Head coach Gernot Rohr has only lost one competitive game since taking over the Super Eagles two years ago and the former German international defender says his wards know how to get their spring back when the whistle goes for kick-off at the Kaliningrad Arena on Saturday. He added that he is confident his players will be able to shake off the blues from the recent friendly loses.

“We will take it one match at a time. I love this group because we know how to rise to the occasion together, Nigeria will be ready for Croatia,” Coach Gernot said.
