Ayo Akinfe

[1] Nigeria is a nation of very intelligent people who constantly come up with novel ideas

[2] We are superb at coming up with prototypes of machines but alas, that is like only running 50 metres in a 100 metre race

[3] Over the decades, Nigerian inventors have come up with automobiles, aircrafts, drones, etc. However, as a nation, we lack the capacity to mass-produce all these items

[2] Historically, we have a precedence for this sort of emergency manufacturing and production explosion and in 1941, the Americans did the unthinkable after the bombing of Pearl Harbour and the declaration of war on Japan

Were I in President Tinubu’s shoes I would aim to make winning the 2026 World Cup a launchpad for attracting widespread investment into Nigeria so would have a long-list that looks like this

Ayo Akinfe

[1] Joachim Lowe

[2] José Mourinho

[3] Ralph Hasenhüttl

[4] Julen Lopetegui

[5] Hansi Flick

[6] Zinadine Zidane

[7] Jurgen Klopp

[8] Herve Renard

[9] Antonio Conte

[10] Thomas Tuchel

For me, the programme would be very simple:

[1] Win the Jules Rimet trophy and use it as a platform to sell Nigeria to the wider world
