Gumi offers to act as intermediary with bandits to secure release of kidnapped hostages

CONTROVERSIAL Muslim cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has announced that he is prepared to act as a go-between and negotiate with armed bandits who recently abducted 287 schoolchildren in Kaduna State in a bid to facilitate their release.

[2] Many of our staple foods like gari, fufu, akpu, lafun, etc are made from cassava, which is why we have never food shortages in Nigeria up until now. A national programme is now required to make sure that we always have about 50m tonnes in storage

[1] A database will be drawn up to determine what are luxury goods. This will include designer clothing, jewellery, automobiles, footwear and fashion accessories. All such items will be subject to a minimum 20% luxury goods tax at the point of purchase
